The highly popular early-access drug-selling simulator, Schedule 1, a consistent fixture among Steam`s top-played games, is gearing up to introduce a brand new drug type. This decision follows a recent community poll where players cast their votes.
Developer TVGS announced on Steam that “shrooms” (magic mushrooms) will officially become the game`s fourth drug, having secured an impressive 269,000 votes. While other proposed features like “drivers” (139,000 votes) and “fishing” (85,000 votes) didn`t win this round, TVGS confirmed they would be brought back for future community polls.
Regarding the release timeframe, TVGS indicated the update is anticipated between mid-October and late November. This “quite open-ended” window is designed to prevent potential delays while simultaneously allowing for the game`s Halloween update, scheduled for October 31.
Game Evolution and Future Plans
Schedule 1 launched in March 2025, empowering players to build a formidable drug-dealing empire from scratch. Its most recent “Rival Cartels” update, released in August, added a competitive layer by allowing players to contend with the rival Benzies family cartel. This update introduced new gameplay mechanics such as cartel deals, ambushes, dealer robberies, and dead drop thefts. Furthermore, it made the Hyland Manor available for purchase after players successfully navigate the Benzies family storyline.
According to the game`s Steam Early Access FAQ, Schedule 1 is projected to remain in early access for approximately two years. During this phase, TVGS plans to enlarge the game`s map, incorporate more drug types, and add various “fun things” for players to spend their in-game cash on. TVGS also noted that the game`s price might experience a “slight” increase once it transitions out of early access. Currently, Schedule 1 is available for $20 and was recognized by GameSpot as one of the best co-op games of 2025.
