During Gamescom Opening Night Live, TT Games unveiled their newest title, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Building on their success with popular franchises like The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, this new entry is set to deliver the ultimate Batman experience, honoring the hero`s rich legacy.
The reveal trailer showcased many iconic moments from two decades of Batman films, reimagined with Lego`s distinct humor and visual flair. A diverse rogues` gallery was also featured, including Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, and Bane, notably voiced by Matt Berry from `What We Do in the Shadows`.
Lego Batman draws inspiration not only from the films but also from acclaimed Batman video games. A brief gameplay demonstration highlighted a combat system highly reminiscent of Rocksteady`s Batman Arkham series, showcasing TT Games` ongoing effort to incorporate more complex gameplay mechanics into their Lego offerings.
Players will also apparently have a significant section of Gotham City available for open-world exploration. This includes gliding among skyscrapers and speeding through the streets in various Batmobiles from Batman`s cinematic past.
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is slated for release in 2026 across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
