Two years ago, Baldur`s Gate 3 emerged from its early access phase and rapidly captivated players, establishing itself as one of the most beloved RPGs of this generation. To commemorate this significant milestone, Larian Studios has unveiled a fascinating compilation of unique and sometimes surprising player choices and statistics gathered over the past two years.
Among the more peculiar achievements, only 2.07% of all players managed to defeat 20 opponents while inebriated, and a mere 1.82% succeeded in earning 100 gold through musical performance. Larian`s shared infographics also highlight that 3.87% of players managed to defeat Gortash in Wyrm`s Rock without activating any traps. In terms of difficulty, half a million players have triumphantly completed the game in the challenging Honor Mode, while 1.1 million players conquered Tactician Mode. An even more impressive feat: only 4,647 Honor Mode adventurers managed to beat the game with a level 1 character.

Regarding companion respeccs, the results were largely anticipated. Shadowheart led by a significant margin with 4,890,005 players opting to re-spec her, with choices seemingly split evenly between a Life Cleric and a Death Cleric build. Wyll was the second most respecced companion, tallying 1,417,506 changes, followed by Gale in third place with 684,454 player modifications.
Delving into truly obscure player decisions, only 350 players chose to re-spec Minsc into a Death Domain Cleric, and a touching 598 players adopted a child alongside Wyll. Larian also announced forthcoming expansions to the official modding toolkit, further empowering the community. Since September 2024, the Baldur`s Gate 3 modding scene has flourished, with over 8,500 mods created and collectively downloaded more than 265 million times.
Larian Studios CEO, Swen Vincke, recently extended his appreciation to Baldur`s Gate 3 players for their unwavering support, offering a subtle hint at the studio`s next ambitious project. Earlier this year, Vincke provided an extensive interview where he elaborated on the studio`s decision not to pursue DLC for Baldur`s Gate 3 and articulated their stance on the role of AI in game development. The final major patch for Baldur`s Gate 3 was released in April, marking the culmination of its significant post-launch content updates.
