Hideo Kojima`s studio, Kojima Productions, is set to offer an early look at its upcoming projects. An official announcement on September 1 confirmed that the studio`s 10th-anniversary celebration will feature a “glimpse into future projects.”
This special event, titled “Beyond the Strand,” is scheduled for live broadcast on IGN on September 23. For viewers in Tokyo, it commences at 1 PM. This translates to 9 PM PT on September 22, midnight ET on September 23, and 5 AM BST on September 23 for those in the UK.
While Kojima himself will host the event, the specific topics for discussion remain undisclosed. The acclaimed developer currently has several initiatives underway, including the video games OD and Physint, a Death Stranding film adaptation in collaboration with A24, and a Death Stranding anime series.
The current iteration of Kojima Productions was founded in December 2015, nearing its decennial milestone. Prior to this, a different version of Kojima Productions operated within Konami, from 2005 until Kojima`s departure from the company in 2015.
To date, the re-established Kojima Productions has launched two titles: Death Stranding in 2019 and its sequel, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, slated for 2025. Although Kojima possesses concepts for a potential Death Stranding 3, he has indicated he will not personally lead its development.
Having recently turned 62, Hideo Kojima, unlike many contemplating retirement at his age, has declared his lifelong commitment to creative work.
