The upcoming expansion for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, named “Legacy of the Forge,” has received its official release date, set for September 9th. This marks the second story-driven DLC for the highly acclaimed RPG.
The announcement was made during Gamescom Opening Night Live in Cologne, Germany, accompanied by a reveal trailer. The expansion`s description invites players to “test their blacksmithing prowess by reconstructing a ruined forge within Kuttenberg. Players can design and personalize the workshop, its environment, and their personal living quarters, with enhancements that offer both aesthetic and functional benefits.”
Kingdom Come 2 debuted in early 2025 and has since received complimentary updates, including features like horse racing and a challenging hardcore difficulty mode. Its initial paid expansion, “Brushes with Death,” was released in May. Following “Legacy of the Forge,” another expansion, “Mysteria Ecclesia,” is slated for later in 2025. Players have the option to purchase these expansions separately or as part of a $30 bundle.
The game achieved impressive commercial success, selling 2 million units within its first two weeks and reaching 3 million copies within three months of release. Furthermore, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 garnered significant critical acclaim, receiving high ratings from various reviewers.
Warhorse, the developer, has also provided official mod support, empowering players to introduce a wide array of creative and unconventional content into the game.
