Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment Unveils November Release Date and New Features

Nintendo officially announced during its recent Direct presentation that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is set to launch on November 6, 2025.

Several new gameplay elements were also unveiled for the upcoming title. Players will utilize Zonai Devices to combat foes, much like their function in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The game supports two-player split-screen co-op, offering a local multiplayer experience. Interestingly, while Age of Imprisonment will not be available on the original Nintendo Switch console, online co-op play is possible with users who own the first console via a new GameShare feature.

The latest trailer showcased the “Sync Strike” moves, a mechanic previously teased, where two characters combine forces to execute a powerful joint attack. Additionally, Sonia and an unrevealed Korok were confirmed as playable characters. The game appears to incorporate aerial combat, with a character depicted battling a Frost Gleeok while operating some form of flying contraption. Princess Zelda was also briefly shown mounting a Zonai device for battle, though further details regarding this were sparse in the trailer.

This Tears of the Kingdom spin-off aims to delve deeper into the lore established in the original game, specifically focusing on the pivotal battle that took place with the ancient Ganondorf. Unlike its predecessor, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, which diverged from the main timeline by altering certain story elements, it remains to be seen whether Age of Imprisonment will adhere strictly to the established canon or introduce its own narrative twists.
