Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Trailer: Partner Attacks & More

Koei Tecmo has revealed an exciting new trailer for “Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment” during the recent Nintendo Direct presentation. This Musou-style action game, which was first announced in a previous Nintendo Switch 2 Direct earlier this year, promises to immerse players in a grand narrative.

“Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment” takes players back to Hyrule`s distant past, focusing on Princess Zelda after she is transported through time during the pivotal events of “Tears of the Kingdom.” The game will feature many beloved characters seen in “TOTK” flashbacks, including King Rauru and Queen Sonia, who will fight alongside Zelda against massive enemy hordes in this dynamic Musou-style adventure.

The latest footage, showcased during the Partner Direct, prominently features new partner-based attack mechanics. These allow two characters to combine their unique abilities for devastating, crowd-clearing maneuvers. One impressive scene depicts Zelda and Rauru joining hands to unleash dual beams of light upon a group of Bokoblins. The trailer concludes with an intriguing tease of a bipedal mech, shown under assembly, though its full combat capabilities remain a mystery for now.

In addition to “Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment,” the Partner Direct presented a range of updates and new game debuts from various third-party publishers. Notable announcements included Capcom`s “Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection,” Sega Atlus`s “Persona 3 Reload” and “Yakuza Kiwami 2,” and Bandai Namco`s “Once Upon A Katamari” and “Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.” Square Enix concluded the presentation with two new additions to its acclaimed HD-2D catalog: “The Adventures Of Elliot: The Millennium Tales” and “Octopath Traveler 0.”

“Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment” is scheduled for an exclusive launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 this winter.
