The highly anticipated game, Hollow Knight: Silksong, has finally been released, bringing with it the official soundtrack.
Composer Christopher Larkin announced the availability of the soundtrack, which can be purchased on Bandcamp for $11.99. It`s also available on Steam at the same price, with an option to buy the game (typically $20) and the soundtrack together for a reduced price of $25.58.
This new soundtrack boasts an impressive 53 tracks, significantly more than the original Hollow Knight`s 26 tracks. Even when considering the 15 tracks from the `Hollow Knight: Gods & Nightmares` DLC, the Silksong soundtrack surpasses the combined total of the previous releases.
While the soundtracks for the original Hollow Knight and `Gods & Nightmares` are available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music, there`s no current information regarding a streaming release for the Silksong soundtrack. A vinyl edition of the original Hollow Knight soundtrack is still available for purchase.
Christopher Larkin, who also scored the original Hollow Knight and its DLC, is the mastermind behind Silksong`s music. His other notable works include soundtracks for Pac-Man 256, Outfolded, and the upcoming Moonlighter 2. Larkin`s personal website describes the Silksong score as expanding on Hollow Knight`s established musical universe, featuring everything from gentle melancholic tunes to intense, pulse-pounding boss themes.
Naturally, players are experiencing this music firsthand within the game, which has already achieved considerable concurrent player numbers on Steam. The game`s successful launch even led to temporary technical difficulties across Steam, PSN, Xbox, and Nintendo eShop platforms.
