Even after almost ten years since its launch, Hello Games continues to deliver updates for No Man`s Sky. The recent `Voyagers` update has now laid the groundwork for exciting new features in their upcoming title, Light No Fire. Sean Murray, co-founder of Hello Games, has indicated that advancements made in No Man`s Sky are paving the way for a game world featuring vast, explorable oceans and an impressively large planet.
Murray elaborated to PC Gamer, stating, `Many of the technologies we`re rolling out with [No Man`s Sky: Voyagers] are also being integrated into Light No Fire, which is designed as a truly open, shared Earth-sized planet. It will boast authentic oceans that require substantial vessels and crews to navigate.` He expressed enthusiasm about sharing these technological leaps with players ahead of time.
Light No Fire was initially revealed by Hello Games in late 2023, with Murray touting it as `the first truly open world.` Distinct from No Man`s Sky, this new game will center on a single, shared planet where all players will reside. Notably, the `Voyagers` update introduced the capability for multi-person ships in No Man`s Sky, allowing for player characters to form a crew.
Murray also highlighted the significant engineering feats involved: `The technical hurdles our programmers overcame to achieve this vision have been enormous. Virtually every system within the game required a complete overhaul to support these expanded relative spaces.`
The `Voyagers` update is currently available. Furthermore, No Man`s Sky players can acquire various in-game items via Twitch drops from today until September 1.
