Hades 2 Officially Launches September 25, First on Switch 2

After a successful early access phase and several refining updates, Hades 2 is now poised for its complete, full-version release. During the recent September Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo officially announced that Hades 2 will be available digitally for both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch console starting September 25. This release will be a timed console exclusive for the Switch platform, while also launching on the same day for PC players via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

For those preferring physical copies, a boxed version of Hades 2 for the Switch 2 is scheduled to arrive later in the year, on November 20.

Hades 2 has undergone an extensive early access period spanning just over a year. Since its initial release in May 2024, the game has benefited from numerous significant updates, introducing a substantial amount of new content and meticulously fine-tuning the overall gameplay experience. A brand new v1.0 launch trailer for Hades 2 was premiered during the Nintendo Direct event, offering a glimpse into the finalized game.

While the early access launch already offered a rich and engaging experience for players, the continuous stream of updates and patches has further enriched the game world. Subsequent additions include expansive new regions to explore, a diverse array of new weapons to master, and a collection of adorable familiars that players can recruit to aid them in their heroic journey.

Although Hades 2 is also slated for release on Xbox and PlayStation platforms in the future, the Nintendo Switch 2 will be the first console to host the game, courtesy of its timed exclusive window. Performance details for the Switch 2 indicate that Hades 2 will run at a crisp 1080p resolution with 120 frames per second when the console is docked in TV mode. In handheld mode, players can expect a smooth 1080p at 60 frames per second.
