ArenaNet`s long-running MMORPG, Guild Wars 2, which originally launched in 2012, is set to receive its sixth expansion, titled “Visions of Eternity,” on October 28. This highly anticipated update will transport players to a mystical island, introducing a host of exciting new features, including the unique opportunity to acquire a beachfront Homestead.
In “Visions of Eternity,” players will embark on a grand adventure to the legendary island of Castora. Their mission: to confront and neutralize a malevolent faction that seeks to exploit the island`s power for their own dark purposes.
Upon its launch, “Visions of Eternity” will significantly expand the 13-year-old MMORPG with numerous additions. Key new features include:
- Two expansive new maps ripe for exploration.
- A collection of powerful new legendary weapons.
- Substantial updates and enhancements for the popular Skimmer mount.
- Advanced capabilities and features for the innovative Homestead housing system.
- Additional elite specializations for every profession, offering players a wider array of build possibilities and strategic choices.
A compelling reason to journey to Castora is the chance to establish a personal fantasy beachfront residence. Players will be able to transform an existing island shipwreck into their ideal island getaway. Moreover, the new Homestead functionalities will facilitate easy sharing of housing designs, allowing other players to instantly replicate complex creations, provided they possess the necessary decorative items.
This marks the second instance of the Homestead feature being introduced to Guild Wars 2, following its debut in the game`s previous expansion, “Janthir Wilds.” While players can only have one active Homestead at a time, a new “layouts” feature will enable them to seamlessly switch between different home customizations and instantly restore their preferred designs.
Much like “Janthir Wilds,” “Visions of Eternity” is scheduled to receive three major free content updates throughout 2026. These forthcoming updates will further enrich the expansion with additional story content, new maps, more legendary weapons, and fresh endgame challenges.
“Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity” is now available for preorder, with several distinct editions to choose from:
