Seasoned wasteland explorers are well aware of the bracket secret.
Recently, the girlfriend of a Fallout: New Vegas fan, inspired by the second season of Amazon’s “Fallout” series, decided to delve into the game and encountered the challenging terminal hacking mechanic.
She approached the hacking puzzles with utmost seriousness, dedicating a special notebook to jot down her observations and strategies.

Naturally, veteran Fallout: New Vegas players immediately wondered, “She knows about the brackets, right? Right?!”
The crucial aspect of the FNV hacking mechanic is indeed the brackets. Many players initially overlooked this trick, and discovering it years later often came as a genuine revelation after countless hours of gameplay.
During hacking, if you spot a group of characters enclosed in paired brackets on the terminal screen—such as [], {}, or ()—and select them, it will either remove one incorrect password option or restore a hacking attempt.
