miHoYo (HoYoverse), the developer behind hit games like Genshin Impact, has publicly shared the extensive outcomes of its ongoing legal battles against individuals involved in leaking information, cheating, and hacking. The company reported substantial financial compensation and numerous public apologies secured through these legal pursuits.
In collaboration with law enforcement agencies, miHoYo initiated 22 criminal prosecutions. Additionally, civil lawsuits were filed against a significant number of individuals, totaling 2,388 people.
These comprehensive legal actions have cumulatively resulted in approximately $5.38 million in compensation for the company. Furthermore, miHoYo announced that 1,240 individuals have publicly acknowledged their wrongdoing and issued apologies for their actions.
The studio reiterates its strong position against those who leak confidential game information or develop unauthorized cheats for their titles, warning that such activities carry severe legal repercussions, including potential imprisonment.
