Both presentations were originally slated for March 13.

Two technical talks from Bungie developers, focusing on the development and support of their upcoming shooter *Marathon*, have been abruptly canceled at the Game Developers Conference 2024. According to the event’s schedule, both presentations were set to take place on March 13.

The first canceled talk was titled “Automating Marathon: How Bungie Went from 10 Automated Tests to Over 100 New, Reliable Tests to Deliver a High-Quality, Stable, Live-Service Game.” It was to be presented by Senior Automation Engineer Jon Walhly.

This session was intended to detail the evolution of *Marathon*’s automated testing system. The second canceled presentation, “High-Performance Gameplay Networking for Marathon,” was scheduled to be delivered by Senior Engineer Alan Wiederman. This talk planned to delve into the technical solutions and architectural decisions that ensure high-performance gameplay networking within the game.
