Pokémon enthusiasts will soon have an opportunity to acquire another rare shiny legendary in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Starting September 26, participating retailers across the United States and other regions will be distributing complimentary download codes for either a shiny Koraidon or a shiny Miraidon.
US residents can obtain their download code from GameStop locations that are part of the promotion. Meanwhile, players in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand can pick up their codes at EB Games stores.
Each download code grants one of the two legendary Pokémon, contingent on your game version. Players of Pokémon Scarlet will receive a shiny Miraidon, while those playing Pokémon Violet will instead get a shiny Koraidon.
Once you have your code, launch your copy of Scarlet or Violet and follow these instructions to redeem it:
- Press X to access the in-game menu.
- Select Poke Portal.
- Choose Mystery Gift, then Get with Code/Password.
- Enter the provided code when prompted.
- Select your gift and ensure you save your game afterward.
This distribution event concludes on October 15. Make sure to visit a participating store before this deadline if you wish to add one of these coveted shiny legendaries to your collection.
Additionally, other shiny Pokémon are currently available in Scarlet and Violet. Until September 30, you can claim the shiny Treasures of Ruin through Mystery Gift. Several free sets of Tera Shards can also be acquired before the same date.
