Many of Fortnite`s most memorable moments are tied to in-game live events, which are unique, one-time-only content experiences. The very first such event, which kicked off this amazing tradition, was called “Blast Off” and occurred at the end of Chapter 1 Season 4. And now, this event is returning at the conclusion of Fortnite OG Season 4. The new iteration of this rocket show will take place on July 26 at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET during any ongoing rounds of Fortnite OG.
The “Blast Off” event originally took place on June 30, 2018. At that time, the mysterious Visitor launched a rocket that went haywire right in the middle of battle royale matches happening at 10:30 AM PT. The rocket launched, flew far into space, then turned around and headed towards Tilted Towers. But instead of landing, the rocket collided with a rift, and that`s when things took a truly interesting turn.
It is not expected that the Fortnite OG version of “Blast Off” will significantly differ from the original. However, it wouldn`t be surprising if Epic Games added new elements, such as a safe zone where players can watch the event without fear of attacks from other participants.
The arrival of the Visitor on the Battle Royale island back in Chapter 1 Season 4 marked the beginning of Fortnite`s storyline, although the plot involving The Seven — an Avengers-style group to which the Visitor belonged — was largely abandoned during Chapter 4. Among story enthusiasts, there has been hope that the new version of the “Blast Off” event might contain new details that connect it to the current Fortnite narrative.
Regardless of how the situation unfolds, this event will mark the beginning of the end for Fortnite OG Season 4, which concludes on August 7.
