Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4: Slower XP Gain Reported

With the launch of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 4, players are back to level one, embarking once again on the journey to complete the Battle Pass and unlock all its cosmetics. However, according to dataminers, the experience gain this season will be slower. Epic Games has reportedly reduced the amount of passive XP, which players earn simply by spending time in the game.

In previous seasons, passive XP was awarded per minute of play, but now most modes have lost between 30% and 50% of their former Season 3 rates. In OG mode, passive XP has been entirely removed. Passive XP was also removed from the standard Battle Royale mode last week, possibly prematurely.

While this change might seem negative, its impact is not as significant as it might initially appear. Firstly, other sources of XP, such as completing quests and defeating enemies, remain unchanged, so there are still plenty of ways to earn experience.

Secondly, Season 4 will run until November 1st, making it a month longer than the previous season. Since the number of levels required to complete the pass and the amount of XP per level remain constant, Epic`s decision to slightly slow down player progression is not surprising. For regular players, this change is unlikely to have a major impact on their gameplay.

The launch of Chapter 6 Season 4 introduces many new features: a complete refresh of the main Battle Royale mode, as well as new Lego and OG Passes, and, of course, a Battle Pass filled with various cosmetic items.
