Fortnite continues its streak of surprising collaborations, having recently partnered with Gorillaz, the Front Man from Squid Game, and One Punch Man. Now, Epic Games has announced another unexpected crossover: a new skin based on a space dwarf from the cooperative shooter Deep Rock Galactic is set to join the game.
This upcoming six-foot-tall dwarf skin is scheduled to hit the Fortnite item shop this Friday, at the usual reset time of 5 PM PT. It is anticipated to come with additional accessories such as a pickaxe, back bling, and a wrap. However, it`s worth noting that such bundled items are not always guaranteed for individual game-themed skins. For instance, the Goat skin from Goat Simulator, which shares a publisher with Deep Rock Galactic, did not receive any accompanying accessories. As the teaser image is the only information provided, the full contents of the bundle remain unconfirmed.

The collaboration is particularly notable as Fortnite rarely partners with video games that are not available on the Epic Games Store. Despite this, it`s not entirely without precedent; for example, Halo also secured a spot in the current battle pass, despite not being on EGS.
Deep Rock Galactic, which launched in early access on PC and Xbox in 2018 before its full release in 2020, is a co-op shooter. In the game, players customize and control fantasy-style dwarves, embarking on missions to mine valuable resources within procedurally generated cave systems on a hostile alien planet. This specific crossover is likely timed to coincide with the release of the new spinoff game, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor – a dynamic top-down shooter that is scheduled to exit early access in September.
