Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade: Switch 2 Release Details

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is now available for pre-order on Nintendo Switch 2, priced surprisingly at $40. The game is set to release on January 22, 2026, for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. Notably, only the Switch 2 will receive a physical edition, which includes various in-game bonuses and a Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Play Booster Pack.

The physical and digital versions of FF7 Remake Intergrade for Switch 2 both include the Intermission DLC featuring Yuffie, alongside these in-game items:

  • Weapon: Cacstar
  • Armor:
    • Midgar Bangle
    • Shinra Bangle
    • Corneo Armlet
  • Accessories:
    • Superstar Belt
    • Mako Crystal
    • Seraphic Earrings
  • Summoning Materia:
    • Carbuncle
    • Chocobo Chick
    • Cactuar

The physical edition for Nintendo Switch 2 further enhances its value with a Magic: The Gathering Play Booster, containing 14 cards from the popular Final Fantasy crossover set. It also boasts reversible cover art, showcasing Cloud and Sephiroth on one side, and Cloud observing the Shinra building on the other.

Similar to other Square Enix titles on Switch 2, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be distributed as a Game-Key Card, requiring a download from the eShop after card insertion. This approach is likely due to the game`s substantial 87.9GB size, exceeding the Switch 2`s 64GB game card capacity, making it the largest Switch 2 game to date.

Given the game`s size, many players might find their Switch 2`s 256GB SSD insufficient. Therefore, acquiring a microSD Express Card beforehand is advisable.

More Nintendo Direct Highlights

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade was one of two Square Enix RPGs featured during the recent September Nintendo Direct. The other notable title was Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, a significantly updated version of the classic PS1 RPG, launching on February 5, 2026, for consoles and PC.
