The first season of the acclaimed show `Fallout` was recently released on 4K Blu-ray, and it`s already available at a reduced price on Amazon. Originally priced at $40, the standard 4K edition is currently on sale for $30. This brings its cost in line with the standard 1080p Blu-ray version.
Note that this discounted price applies to the standard 4K Blu-ray edition, which comes in a plastic case. The Limited Edition Steelbook, featuring exclusive packaging and art, sold out rapidly after pre-orders began in April and saw only a brief return last week around its launch. Amazon indicates this Steelbook version is genuinely limited and was available only while supplies lasted.
While limited editions sometimes get restocked, Amazon`s handling of the standard 4K pre-orders suggests the Steelbook might be permanently sold out. Amazon didn`t list the standard edition until mid-May, after the Steelbook was gone, initially pricing it the same ($40). This lack of a price difference suggests the Steelbook case was primarily an early pre-order incentive, though a restock is never impossible to predict.
Regardless, the $10 discount on the standard edition is a welcome alternative for those who missed out on the limited version`s decorative packaging and art cards (released July 8). Crucially, the actual content on the discs is identical for both the standard and Steelbook editions.

The 4K Blu-ray set contains all eight episodes across three discs. The episodes are presented in stunning 4K resolution (2160p) with High Dynamic Range (HDR), supporting both Dolby Vision and HDR10 formats. The audio is enhanced with Dolby Atmos and Dolby TrueHD 7.1 surround sound options.
The total runtime for Season 1`s eight episodes is approximately 450 minutes, or 7.5 hours. A dedicated bonus disc is included, featuring various behind-the-scenes featurettes. As is common with many 4K releases, the special features disc is a standard Blu-ray, not 4K.

The first season of `Fallout` premiered on Prime Video in April and quickly garnered positive reviews from both critics and viewers. It stands out as one of the rare live-action adaptations of a video game that successfully captures the spirit of its source material. It`s noteworthy that Amazon chose to release this original series on physical media, as it`s not standard practice for them, allowing fans to own and watch the show without a streaming subscription. The physical releases were produced and distributed by Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment.
The series follows the interwoven stories of three main characters navigating the post-apocalyptic Wasteland: Lucy, a Vault dweller experiencing the surface world for the first time; Maximus, a squire from the Brotherhood of Steel; and The Ghoul, a mysterious and dangerous bounty hunter.
For fans looking to add collectibles to their collection, a variety of `Fallout` themed merchandise is available. The official store offers a wide range of items inspired by both the TV series and the original Bethesda games, including apparel, accessories, and figures.
