Bethesda has unveiled details about Fallout 76`s upcoming C.A.M.P. Revamp update. This update focuses on enhancing the game`s base-building mechanics and refining the workshop menu system for a more intuitive experience.
Creative Director Jon Rush showcased the improvements in a developer preview, highlighting new streamlined menus designed for quicker item location, along with fresh building tools and revised placement rules.
Rush stated, “We are eliminating our placement rules, allowing players to toggle snapping, intersecting, and free-place anywhere.” This change directly addresses community feedback, particularly from “sky campers” who build elevated bases.
Previously, players faced limitations when constructing modules and items on floating foundations, which complicated the creation of higher, elevated base designs. This update is expected to simplify building intricate sky camps and potentially improve placement on uneven terrain.
The C.A.M.P. Revamp update will be available in Fallout 76 on September 2nd, meaning players won`t have long to wait to experience the overhauled building system. Rush also hinted at “huge” prizes for community CAMP-building contests planned for later in the year.
The game`s previous major update, Season 21: Gone Fission, introduced fishing mechanics and a new questline.
In other related news, the teaser for the Fallout TV show`s Season 2 premiered at Gamescom Opening Night Live, suggesting a strong connection to the lore of Fallout: New Vegas.
