It appears that players who preorder World of Warcraft`s upcoming Midnight expansion will gain early access to the game`s highly anticipated player housing system. This information surfaced from leaked preorder bundles on the in-game shop, discovered by some players after the release of WoW`s 11.2 Ghosts of K`aresh update, and subsequently confirmed by Wowhead.
Midnight is set to offer three distinct editions: Base, Heroic, and Epic. Intriguingly, all three versions will include early access to player housing. While the exact start date for this early access period remains undisclosed in the bundles, Blizzard continues a debated practice: selling a three-day head start to the expansion itself. This premium access is bundled with the $90 Epic Edition, a strategy first introduced with WoW`s current expansion, The War Within.
Beyond early expansion access, the Epic Edition also grants beta access and a collection of exclusive cosmetic items. Among these are unique light- and void-themed decorations as part of a “Midnight Housing Bundle.” It is currently unknown whether these specific decorations, or similar variants, will be obtainable through regular gameplay or if purchasing the Epic Edition will be the sole method.
Blizzard has yet to officially comment on these leaked preorder details. The release date for Midnight is also still unconfirmed. However, Warcraft executive producer Chris Metzen stated at BlizzCon 2023 that the developers aim to accelerate the release schedule for new WoW expansions beyond the traditional two-year cycle. This suggests Midnight could potentially launch as early as next year, though this remains speculative. More concrete details are expected at Gamescom, where Blizzard plans a full reveal of the expansion. A prequel novel titled “Blood Ties” is scheduled for release on November 18.
