Dungeons & Dragons fans can now acquire the reissued “Dragonlance Chronicles” omnibus, one of the most celebrated D&D book series. In recent years, physical editions were hard to come by at reasonable prices, but now the trilogy, first published as an omnibus by Random House Worlds earlier this year, is available with a nearly 50% discount. Typically priced at $35, the omnibus is currently on sale for just $18.51 at Amazon and Walmart.
This 1,056-page edition quickly became a New York Times bestseller and has sold out multiple times. The “Dragonlance Chronicles” omnibus includes three classic fantasy novels co-authored by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman:
- Dragons of Autumn Twilight (1984)
- Dragons of Winter Night (1985)
- Dragons of Spring Dawning (1985)
The trilogy had been out of print for a long time; for instance, the last standalone edition of Dragons of Autumn Twilight was published back in 2006. Many consider the “Chronicles” arc to be the best in the broader Dragonlance book series, making its reissue in an affordable omnibus format excellent news for fans.

Beyond its stunning new cover art, the “Dragonlance Chronicles” omnibus features a foreword by actor Joe Manganiello, a dedicated D&D enthusiast. Manganiello also recently contributed to the design of an expansion for HeroQuest, a tabletop board game inspired by D&D.
The series is rooted in the official Dragonlance campaign setting for Advanced Dungeons & Dragons First and Second Editions, which itself originated from Hickman and Weis` D&D sessions in the early 1980s. This high fantasy trilogy follows a band of adventurers caught up in an epic conflict known as the War of the Lance. The trilogy was published alongside numerous other official D&D works set in the Dragonlance universe, including adventure modules, spin-off board games, video games, and more.
While the “Dragonlance Chronicles” trilogy served as the official storyline for the original AD&D Dragonlance modules, subsequent D&D editions have also featured official modules and expansions set in the Dragonlance setting, including the most recent Fifth Edition. In addition to official game materials, over 190 spin-off novels have been released, including two follow-up books to the original trilogy: Dragonlance Chronicles: The Second Generation and Dragons of Summer Flame. Physical copies of these books can be quite expensive nowadays, but Kindle and Audible editions are available at standard prices.
Dragonlance Destinies

The most recent Dragonlance book trilogy is Dragonlance Destinies, which commenced in 2022. All three novels—Dragons of Deceit, Dragons of Fate, and Dragons of Eternity—are available in paperback. Books 2 and 3 are also offered in hardcover with notable discounts.
