Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake: Prime Day Price Returns!

The highly anticipated Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake has reverted to its Prime Day sale price, making it available for just $35. This stunning re-imagining of a classic Square Enix JRPG can be found at this discounted rate for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X consoles. While the Switch and PS5 editions are widely available at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target, Best Buy currently stands out as the sole retailer offering the Xbox Series X version.

This HD-2D Remake meticulously rebuilds the 1988 original, featuring entirely new visuals, reorchestrated music, and subtle gameplay refinements, all while preserving the core content. The initial Dragon Quest III was groundbreaking for introducing one of the earliest class-switching systems in a console RPG, alongside an innovative non-linear, open-world design. The game`s timeless appeal is further enhanced by the HD-2D Remake, which delivers a gorgeous visual overhaul and numerous quality-of-life improvements.

From a narrative perspective, Dragon Quest III serves as a prequel to Dragon Quest I and II, meaning players can dive straight in without prior experience. Square Enix is also actively developing HD-2D Remakes for the first two games, which will be released as a bundled package on October 30th. These initial three titles collectively form what is known as “The Erdrick Trilogy.”

The distinctive HD-2D art style, which blends 2D pixel characters with 3D environments, is consistent across all three remakes. This visual approach has previously graced other acclaimed Square Enix titles such as Live A Live, Octopath Traveler 2, Star Ocean: The Second Story R, and Triangle Strategy.
