The Limited Edition Steelbook of Detective Pikachu is currently on sale at Amazon for just $28. Released in late April, this 4K Blu-ray edition had previously seen its price climb to as high as $42.49 last month. The current $28 price point matches its lowest historical price for this charming collectible version of the live-action Pokémon film.
Originally, Detective Pikachu was released on Blu-ray back in 2019, with Best Buy offering an exclusive steelbook case. That version is now scarce, often fetching exorbitant prices on secondary markets. This new 2025 edition features a distinct steelbook design showcasing Ryme City`s best detective.
The new Limited Edition Steelbook includes both a 4K Blu-ray and a 1080p Blu-ray disc, alongside a digital copy voucher. Note that the digital voucher must be redeemed by June 30, 2027.
The steelbook`s front and back covers depict Pikachu`s smiling face against the backdrop of Ryme City, while the interior art features a screenshot from the film showing Tim Goodman with Pikachu on his shoulder.
Technically, this 4K Blu-ray edition is an upscaled transfer supporting HDR10 and offering multiple enhanced audio tracks, including Dolby Atmos, TrueHD 7.1, and Digital 5.1.
