Delta Force X Saw May Be The Wildest Crossover Collaboration This Year

The gaming world has seen its share of unexpected collaborations this year, such as the Beavis and Butt-Head character skins introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Yet, game developer Team Jade appears to be raising the bar with what might be the most outlandish crossover of the year: Delta Force x Saw. A recent teaser video depicts Saw`s infamous Jigsaw killer seemingly entering the intense world of this free-to-play tactical first-person shooter, presenting players with a grim choice between life and death.

Within the “Saw” film series, the original Jigsaw killer, John Kramer, has been deceased for nearly two decades. Neither he nor his subsequent apprentices ever sported full-sized costumes inspired by Billy the Puppet. Nevertheless, the individual behind the Billy mask in this promotional clip unmistakably understands Kramer`s distinctive methods and favored catchphrases. It`s only at the conclusion of the video that this mysterious figure unveils himself as operator D-Wolf. This isn`t the inaugural instance of the “Saw” franchise venturing into gaming, as Billy has previously made appearances in titles like Fortnite and Call of Duty.

The D-Wolf Billy the Puppet skin is slated for an in-game launch on October 23rd, perfectly timed for Halloween. This release will coincide with the introduction of various firearms and other themed items drawing inspiration from the “Saw” movies. Prior to this, a new Delta Force season, “War Ablaze,” is set to commence on September 23rd. On this date, the game will unveil two fresh modes, “Operation Warden” and “Operation Raven,” along with a new Warfare map titled “Fault.” Additionally, a new operator named Raptor will be added to the game`s expanding roster.

Last month, Delta Force achieved a remarkable milestone, hitting a new peak of 210,000 concurrent players on Steam. The game has steadily cultivated a dedicated player base since its initial release in December 2024. Despite its growing popularity, Delta Force seems to resonate more strongly with international audiences than with domestic players, as evidenced by its infrequent appearance in Circana`s US engagement reports.

Regarding the “Saw” film series, a fresh collection of Saw 4K Steelbook Editions is currently available for pre-order via Amazon. Earlier this summer, Blumhouse acquired a controlling interest in the “Saw” franchise, a move that will see original director James Wan returning to a creative capacity for the first time since 2006`s “Saw III.”
