Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor Set for Full Launch on Xbox & PC, Joining Game Pass

The highly anticipated top-down single-player shooter, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, is gearing up for its official release. Following a remarkably successful early access period that saw it sell over one million copies in its first week, the game is now confirmed to fully launch on September 17. This exciting announcement, made at Gamescom, also reveals its availability on Xbox Series X|S and its inclusion in Game Pass.

Players will soon be able to delve into the action on both PC and Xbox Series X|S platforms. Critics, including GameSpot`s Chris Pereira, have highly praised Survivor, often drawing favorable comparisons to the acclaimed Vampire Survivor. In this thrilling title, players take control of a lone dwarf miner, selecting from four distinct classes: Driller, Engineer, Scout, and Gunner. Each class offers unique abilities and strategic options as players explore the procedurally generated depths of Hoxxes IV, a dangerous planet teeming with hostile alien life forms and unimaginable riches.

Developer Ghost Ship Games previously established the September release date. This decision, however, necessitated the temporary omission of “Endless Mode” from the initial launch. The development team at Funday Games indicated that incorporating Endless Mode at release would have introduced significant technical challenges, potentially delaying the game`s eagerly awaited debut. Nevertheless, there are concrete plans to introduce Endless Mode in a subsequent update, ensuring a more complete experience for players in the future.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is not the only spin-off expanding the beloved universe of the Deep Rock Galactic franchise. Ghost Ship Games is also actively developing another title, a roguelite spin-off named Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core. While a specific release date for Rogue Core has yet to be announced, a teaser trailer for the game was shared earlier this year, building considerable anticipation among fans of the series.
