Death Stranding 2: Most Players Continue After Credits

Recent data from Death Stranding 2 indicates a strong player desire for exploration and delivery, with game director Hideo Kojima revealing that close to 80% of players, whom he refers to as `someones,` continued playing even after completing the main story. While the exact number of players wasn`t disclosed, Kojima did provide various insights into player engagement.

These details were shared by Kojima in a social media post commemorating the game`s first month since release. Unsurprisingly, the assault rifle emerged as the most frequently equipped weapon, and the ladder as the top tool. However, the statistics also highlighted some of Death Stranding 2`s more quirky elements: kangaroos were the most rescued animal, ahead of emus and wombats. Players also favored placing `speed up` signs more than any other type of in-game signage. Though specific player numbers weren`t shared, Death Stranding 2`s popularity is evident, as it led the PS5 charts in June. The reported statistics further underscore the game`s unique asynchronous multiplayer system, which encourages players to collaborate by constructing helpful structures and leaving tips.

True to Kojima`s characteristic style, the update also included some of his philosophical reflections. He conveyed a message to those who completed the game:

To everyone who has reached the ending: The world today is in a difficult state. It might be hard to hold on to hope for tomorrow. But know that there is someone out there who would risk their life to protect you—Even if you don’t notice, someone is connected to you, watching over you.
