Conan O’Brien’s “Clueless Gamer” Is Back with Borderlands 4 to Support Charity

Comedian and television host Conan O`Brien has brought back his popular “Clueless Gamer” segment. In the newest episode, Conan dives into the world of Borderlands 4, simultaneously raising funds for an important charitable cause.

For this installment, O`Brien plays Borderlands 4 alongside Brian Long and Liz Day, who were the highest bidders in a CharityBuzz auction supporting the Next for Autism organization. Conan, as always, excels in his role: he pokes fun at the game and demonstrates his characteristic inept gameplay. Notably, he jokes about the annoying character Claptrap and questions why such an absurd game even needs a story.

Next for Autism is a non-profit organization that develops and launches programs to support individuals with autism. Long and Day became the auction winners, making the largest donations, which earned them the opportunity to play a game with Conan O`Brien.

“Clueless Gamer” was a regular series that garnered millions of views worldwide but went on hiatus for a while. The last episode before the Borderlands 4 installment was released in 2024, featuring Conan playing the director`s cut of Death Stranding.

One memorable “Clueless Gamer” episode involved Seth Rogen and Zach Efron drawing a rude image on Conan`s face while playing Mario Kart 8. The show was so successful that the TBS television channel even considered creating a standalone “Clueless Gamer” spin-off, but this project never materialized.

Borderlands 4 is officially launching on September 12, though it will actually become available on September 11 at 9 PM PT. The game will be released this week for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version expected in October.
