Upon its release earlier this year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 garnered significant critical acclaim, with particular praise directed at its exceptional voice cast. Among them, Charlie Cox, widely recognized for his portrayal of Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, lent his voice to the character Gustave. Cox has openly shared his infrequent gaming habits in the past, and true to form, he has yet to personally experience the game. However, it appears he is now ready to change that.
During a recent appearance at Galaxy Con, as reported by Kotaku, Cox disclosed that his last gaming session was nearly three decades ago, playing Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64. Yet, the overwhelming positive reception for Expedition 33 has evidently piqued his interest, making him eager to explore it for himself.
“I want to play the game,” stated Cox. “I need to play the game. First, I need to get a console, and then I need to play the game… I`m so happy for these guys because they`re not a huge company that churns out a ton of games. And I hear it`s a frontrunner for Game of the Year or something. It`s really cool.”
Until recently, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 held the distinction of being the highest-rated game slated for 2025. Its leading position was only surpassed by the anticipated Switch 2 upgrade for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Despite this, prominent figures within the industry, including legendary game designer Hideo Kojima, have consistently expressed high praise for Expedition 33.
Sandfall Interactive, the game`s developer, has communicated with its fanbase regarding potential future updates and features that may be introduced to Expedition 33. Concurrently, Sandfall is actively developing their next project, which they have confirmed will not be a direct sequel to Expedition 33.
