Battlefield 6: Unveiling Next-Gen Console Performance Targets

EA and Battlefield Studios have officially disclosed the performance objectives for Battlefield 6 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 Pro. This announcement provides console players with a clear understanding of the anticipated graphics and frame rates for the upcoming title.

The game will feature distinct “Fidelity” and “Performance” modes available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PS5 Pro. However, the Xbox Series S will operate at a fixed maximum setting, as it does not offer alternative graphics modes for players to choose from.

In “Fidelity” mode, both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 are designed to achieve a maximum resolution of 1440p, targeting a consistent 60 frames per second. For players prioritizing speed, the “Performance” mode on these consoles reduces the resolution to 1280p but aims for a higher frame rate of 80+ FPS.

The PlayStation 5 Pro introduces elevated targets for an even more enhanced experience. Its “Fidelity” mode is set to deliver 2160p at 60 frames per second, while the “Performance” mode aims for 1620p at 80+ frames per second. It is important for players to note that these figures represent maximum target values, and actual in-game performance may fluctuate depending on specific scenarios and gameplay intensity.

PC players can anticipate even greater flexibility, with the game capable of reaching 2160p/4K resolution at 144 FPS on official settings. For those with high-end systems, uncapped frame rates will be an option. Detailed PC system requirements are available separately for a comprehensive overview.

Battlefield 6 is slated for a worldwide release on October 10, becoming available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, reports indicate that a battle royale mode is currently in active development for the game.
