Battlefield 6: Unprecedented “Player” Count Before Beta Launch

The open beta for Battlefield 6 has already attracted approximately 10,000 concurrent users on a single platform, despite the fact that the game`s servers are not scheduled to go live until August 7. According to observations by Insider Gaming, on Monday, August 4, the peak concurrent player count for the Battlefield 6 open beta on Steam alone reached 9,463 individuals.

This remarkable surge in activity coincided with the commencement of preloading for the Battlefield 6 open beta. It is therefore understandable that the game client would experience such a significant spike in user logins. However, it`s crucial to note that actual gameplay has not yet begun, as the servers will only be activated on August 7. Nevertheless, this substantial number of users engaging with the game on a single platform days before its official public availability strongly suggests that the open beta could achieve impressive engagement figures and potentially set new records.

It`s also worth noting that preloading for the Battlefield 6 beta is accessible on other major platforms, including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as well as through the EA app. This indicates that the reported Steam figures represent only a fraction of the total potential audience eager to experience the game.

The Battlefield 6 open beta will officially begin on August 7 for a select group of participants. This includes individuals who registered for Battlefield Labs by July 31, active EA Play Pro members, and players who obtained an access code by watching specific Twitch streamer broadcasts. Following this initial access, the beta will then become widely available to the general public from August 9-10, with a second public weekend planned from August 14-17.

Looking ahead, the full version of Battlefield 6 is set to launch on October 10, making it available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This release date positions it approximately one month ahead of Activision`s Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which is currently rumored to launch on November 14, setting up a competitive holiday season for first-person shooters.
