Battlefield 6: PS5 Pro Enhancements Confirmed, No Steam Deck Support

Battlefield 6 is poised to fully capitalize on the performance capabilities offered by the latest generation of console hardware. Electronic Arts, through an official FAQ, has verified that the upcoming first-person shooter will present players with distinct options to prioritize either higher frame rates or enhanced visual fidelity on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. These flexible performance modes have become a prevalent feature in modern AAA game titles. This confirmation aligns with EA`s earlier statement that Battlefield 6 will be exclusively released on current-generation consoles (excluding the Nintendo Switch 2) and PC, foregoing support for older platforms.

Moreover, the PlayStation 5 Pro iteration of Battlefield 6 is set to receive exclusive “visual performance enhancements,” although the precise nature and extent of these improvements remain undisclosed. This news is not unexpected, as the Battlefield franchise has a long-standing reputation for pushing graphical boundaries, consistently delivering photo-realistic visuals and sophisticated environmental destruction, often serving as a benchmark for system performance.

However, a noteworthy detail from the FAQ indicates that there is “currently no dedicated support for Steam Deck” planned for Battlefield 6. While this does not definitively rule out the possibility of future compatibility, players anticipating playing the game on Valve`s handheld device in the immediate future should temper their expectations.

Battlefield 6 is scheduled for its global launch on October 10, arriving on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Enthusiasts can look forward to open beta sessions for the game, which are slated to run throughout the month of August, leading up to its highly anticipated autumn release.
