Battlefield 6: More Than Just a Product, It’s a “Platform,” Says EA

Following the challenges encountered with Battlefield 2042, Electronic Arts (EA) is now fully committed to Battlefield 6 and the franchise`s future. The company aims to transform Battlefield into a comprehensive `platform` rather than just a standalone game.

During EA`s recent earnings call, CEO Andrew Wilson emphasized this new direction. He stated that the company has invested more in this upcoming Battlefield installment than in any previous title in the series.

Wilson elaborated, explaining that the significant investment stems from their vision of Battlefield as a platform, not merely a single product. He assured that the extent of their four-year investment, involving four studios dedicated to this launch, would soon become evident.

The four studios collaborating on Battlefield`s future under the `Battlefield Studios` umbrella are DICE, Criterion, Motive, and Ripple Effect.

A major upcoming reveal for Battlefield 6 is scheduled for July 31, where EA will showcase the game`s multiplayer mode. Following this, EA plans an extensive marketing and promotion campaign, indicating a company-wide commitment to the title.

Wilson noted that the July 31 reveal would be the public`s initial opportunity to witness the true scope of their development efforts and gain insights into future content.

Confirmed features for Battlefield 6 include both multiplayer and a single-player campaign. Additionally, rumors suggest the return of the popular Portal mode, and reports indicate a battle royale mode is also in development for a post-launch release.

The rumored launch date for Battlefield 6 is October 10, with pre-orders reportedly opening on July 31. The standard edition is not expected to be priced at $80. An open beta for Battlefield 6 is also anticipated.

Dozens of explosive screenshots from the upcoming Battlefield 6 have been released, showcasing the game`s visuals.
