Ball X Pit: The Next Action Roguelite Gem for Game Pass Enthusiasts

Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Kenny Sun have officially announced that their new action roguelite game, Ball X Pit, will launch on October 15. This exciting title was revealed during the latest Nintendo Indie World presentation and will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass. Additionally, players can look forward to playing it on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Drawing inspiration from popular titles like Vampire Survivors and Loop Hero, a version for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 is also slated for release later this year.

Ball X Pit first garnered attention earlier this year at the Steam Next Fest in June, where a free demo remains accessible for anyone eager to try it out. The game`s core gameplay revolves around utilizing over 60 distinct types of `balls`, which can be fused together to create more powerful projectiles, all aimed at blasting away enemies. A satisfying visual detail is the way numerical damage indicators pop up from adversaries upon impact.

When not engaged in the fast-paced action of auto-scrolling levels, players in Ball X Pit will be immersed in rebuilding the world of Ballbylon. This involves constructing a new community using a diverse set of over 70 building units. Progress in rebuilding Ballbylon is key, as it leads to acquiring valuable power-ups, bonuses, and even unlocking new characters to enhance your gameplay experience.

Interestingly, Ball X Pit was just one of several day-one Game Pass titles highlighted during the Indie World Showcase. Other notable announcements for Xbox`s subscription service include Winter Burrow, set to arrive this winter alongside its Switch and Steam releases, as well as Herdling and Ultimate Sheep Raccoon, both also confirmed for Game Pass.

The showcase also presented a handful of games that are either immediately playable or soon-to-be released on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. Among these is a demo for Mina the Hollower, the highly anticipated next title from Yacht Club Games, the acclaimed developers behind Shovel Knight. Mina the Hollower is currently planned for an October 31 release.
