Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Unveils Third-Person Mode and New Game Plus Ahead of Film Release

Ubisoft has revealed a significant update for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the game that launched in 2023. This eagerly anticipated December patch is set to introduce a highly requested third-person perspective, alongside a comprehensive New Game Plus mode. The update is scheduled for release on December 5th, strategically arriving just ahead of the next cinematic installment in the franchise, Avatar: Fire and Ash, which premieres on December 19th.

The newly added third-person mode offers players an alternative way to experience the vibrant and expansive world of Pandora. According to Ubisoft, the dedicated development team at Massive Entertainment meticulously “reworked” various core game elements. This extensive overhaul included animations, control schemes, audio design, and camera systems, all refined to fully support this fresh viewpoint and ensure a seamless, immersive player experience.

Meanwhile, the New Game Plus feature provides a compelling incentive for players to revisit the narrative and dive deeper into the game`s offerings. Consistent with other New Game+ implementations, players will have the option to restart the entire campaign while conveniently retaining their previously acquired inventory and developed skills. This mode further enhances replayability by incorporating an entirely new skill tree and granting access to “more powerful gear,” promising a fresh challenge and rewarding progression for returning players.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is currently accessible across multiple gaming platforms, including PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. For those who prefer subscription-based gaming, the title is also readily available to subscribers of Ubisoft+.

Avatar: Fire and Ash marks the latest installment in James Cameron`s globally renowned *Avatar* film saga. This new cinematic entry faces immense expectations, largely due to the monumental success of its predecessors. The original 2009 *Avatar* amassed an astounding $2.923 billion at the box office, while its 2022 sequel, *The Way of Water*, brought in an impressive $2.320 billion. These figures position them as the number one and number three highest-grossing movies of all time, respectively, setting a high bar for the upcoming film.
