The highly anticipated Analogue 3D console has faced yet another postponement, with its shipping now anticipated for late August. Analogue indicates that recent shifts in US tariff policies are responsible for this delay. Despite incurring additional expenses, the company has committed to absorbing these costs, ensuring the $250 retro-gaming console`s pre-order price remains consistent for its customers.
In an official announcement published on its website, Analogue stated: “Following last week’s sudden tariff changes, Analogue 3D will now begin shipping next month. We`re absorbing the costs—your preorder price stays the same. No additional charges.”
These new, considerable tariffs, which range from 25% to 40%, were enacted by US President Donald Trump on July 7 and impact goods imported from various East-Asian countries. These import duties are applied to products upon their entry into the US and are ultimately borne by American consumers and businesses.
First announced last year, the Analogue 3D swiftly sold out its initial pre-orders. Originally scheduled for a Q1 2025 release, it was subsequently pushed to July, and now to August. This FPGA-based device is designed to offer an authentic Nintendo 64 gameplay experience, enhanced with 4K resolution capabilities for modern displays. Its appeal to retro-gaming enthusiasts is further boosted by its compatibility with original N64 accessories, alongside support for contemporary peripherals such as the 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller.
The Analogue 3D also incorporates diverse display modes crafted to mimic the visual style of classic television sets, featuring meticulously recreated scanlines and shadow mask effects to perfectly simulate the CRT TV experience. Analogue reported that they dedicated over four years to perfecting the N64 experience through FPGA technology, aiming for unparalleled accuracy that is intended to be a significant advancement compared to what typical N64 emulators provide.
