A Fresh Start for Friday the 13th: New Game Announced

For over a decade, the *Friday the 13th* franchise faced a standstill due to complex rights disputes. This issue also led to the shutdown of *Friday the 13th: The Game*`s servers last year, rendering it unplayable. However, following the resolution of these legal complications, the “Jason Universe” initiative was unveiled last year, promising new films, games, and other multimedia content. During a recent panel held at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, it was officially confirmed that a new *Friday the 13th* game is currently in development.

This significant announcement came from Robbie Barsamian, VP of Horror Inc., who stated at the panel, “I can tell you that a new sequel movie and new sequel game are at the top of our list. It’s where most of our energy’s going right now. And I can tell you finally we’re in a position to deliver on that.” He further elaborated, “While we’re not officially announcing with our partners today, both are coming. They’re both in the works and they’re both coming.”

Based on these comments, it appears that both the new film and game projects are still in their preliminary stages. Therefore, detailed announcements and concrete information should not be expected for some time.

In related news, a game adaptation of another iconic horror series, *Hellraiser: Revival*, was also revealed. This title is set to be a first-person survival horror game, featuring an original narrative set within the *Hellraiser* universe. It is planned for release on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, although a specific release window has not yet been provided.
