007 First Light Confirmed for March 2026, Precedes GTA 6

During a recent PlayStation State of Play event, IO Interactive, the acclaimed developer behind the Hitman series, offered an extensive preview of its upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light. The presentation not only showcased new gameplay and details but also officially confirmed the game`s anticipated release date.

The new James Bond title is slated for launch on March 27, 2026. It will be available across a range of major platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Notably, this release places 007 First Light approximately two months ahead of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6, which is scheduled to debut on May 26, 2026.

Further announcements made during the State of Play confirmed that Patrick Gibson, recognized for his role in “Dexter: Original Sin,” will portray the iconic character of James Bond in the game. IO Interactive also unveiled significant new gameplay footage, providing fans with a deeper insight into the game`s mechanics, visuals, and overall style. Additionally, a premium collector`s edition, priced at $300, was revealed, featuring a distinctive mini Golden Gun replica.

At its core, 007 First Light promises to deliver an original narrative, exploring the origin story of James Bond – a creative direction that has largely remained untouched within the long-running spy franchise. IO Interactive has expressed ambitious plans for the project, indicating their vision for this game to be the inaugural installment in an entirely new trilogy.
