After years in development, which began in 2015, and an extended period in Steam Early Access, the complete version of Xenonauts 2 has officially launched for PC. This highly anticipated tactical game offers players a deep strategy experience reminiscent of the classic XCOM series.
Xenonauts 2 is set in an alternate 2009. The Cold War still rages, the Berlin Wall remains standing, and the planet is plagued by suspicious activity:
Unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and mysterious creatures are constantly appearing worldwide, amidst increasingly tense international conflicts. Those who report UFO sightings mysteriously disappear. It seems aliens are growing more confident on Earth every day, which means there’s no time to lose.
In Xenonauts 2, players are tasked with developing and expanding a network of bases. These vital outposts serve multiple purposes: providing essential rest and resupply points for soldiers, and acting as research facilities for studying captured alien bodies and their advanced equipment.
