Spanish studio The Breach, drawing significant inspiration from Rockstar’s critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2, is hard at work on a new first-person project set in the untamed Wild West.
A recent trailer offered a substantial glimpse into the game’s pre-alpha gameplay, showcasing a core mechanic: the settler’s wagon. This essential vehicle isn’t just for transport; it functions as a mobile base, crucial for players navigating the expansive sandbox world. The gameplay centers around long journeys where the wagon can be used to set up temporary camps and can be upgraded with new functionalities over time.
Westlanders will also incorporate a “technology tree,” allowing players to construct advanced buildings vital for mining valuable resources. Developers promise a diverse array of biomes to traverse, each presenting unique challenges and opportunities as players search for the perfect location to establish their thriving Wild West town.
Westlanders is slated for release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. While an exact launch date remains unconfirmed, the developers are targeting an early access release for the project in 2026.
