“Vought: A Corporation’s Rise” – “The Boys” Prequel Set for 2027 Release, Featuring Young Soldier Boy & Stormfront

“Vought: A Corporation’s Rise,” the highly anticipated prequel series to “The Boys,” is officially slated for release in 2027. Series creator Eric Kripke confirmed the general timeline, though a precise launch date remains undetermined as the project enters an extensive post-production phase.

While principal photography for the series has concluded, a significant amount of work remains, particularly in visual effects. Kripke estimates approximately eight months will be dedicated to VFX completion, targeting a November-December timeframe. Following this, Amazon will require an additional couple of months for international localization, pushing the premiere into spring or summer 2027 at the earliest.

Set in the 1950s, the prequel will delve into the early years of Soldier Boy, with Jensen Ackles reprising his role. Aya Cash is also confirmed to return as Stormfront. The series aims to unveil the foundational story of the Vought Corporation, illustrating how the system that bred the corrupt world of superheroes originally came into being.

Despite the first season not yet airing, discussions about future installments are already underway within the production team. Jensen Ackles previously hinted at the potential for multiple seasons, a sentiment now echoed by Kripke, who noted that showrunner Paul Grellong has “truly exciting and innovative ideas” for a prospective second season.

Amazon’s strategy is to sustain strong interest in “The Boys” franchise even after the main series concludes with its upcoming fifth season. Beyond “Vought: A Corporation’s Rise,” several other projects are in development, including a possible continuation of “Gen V,” ensuring the universe continues to expand and evolve.
