Next month marks the tenth anniversary of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Following the conclusion of the main Uncharted 4 saga and the release of its spin-off The Lost Legacy, Naughty Dog shifted its focus to other ambitious projects, including The Last of Us Part II and the eagerly awaited Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
Many devoted Uncharted fans continue to hope for the return of Nathan Drake and his legendary crew of treasure hunters, eagerly anticipating the possibility of Uncharted 5 or a brand-new spin-off. It appears that such ideas have indeed been a topic of discussion within the Naughty Dog studio.
According to renowned insider Tom Henderson, speaking on the Insider Gaming podcast, Naughty Dog had plans for a potential Uncharted 5 even before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. He revealed:
“This isn’t the first time Naughty Dog discussed the idea of Uncharted 5. I know that some planning was underway before COVID.”

Such considerations are not unprecedented for the acclaimed studio. Prior to developing The Last of Us, Naughty Dog had explored options for revisiting the Jak and Daxter series. Given its consistent popularity and significant financial success, Uncharted remains a highly attractive and reliable franchise for future investment.
Recent social media activity by Sean Escayg, co-director of The Lost Legacy, has further fueled speculation about a potential new installment. During his “research” activities, he shared an image of Fort George in Trinidad and Tobago, which fans were quick to interpret as a possible setting or location for an upcoming game in the series.
