The highly anticipated next season of the television series, based on the acclaimed video game “The Last of Us,” is already beginning to reveal its secrets ahead of its official premiere.
Filming for the third season of “The Last of Us” has officially commenced in Vancouver, and the internet is abuzz with initial videos and photographs emerging directly from the production set. These early leaks offer a first look at Kaitlyn Dever embodying the character of Abby, alongside Kiriana Kratter, who is playing Lev.
Based on the circulating footage, it appears the production is capturing critical scenes, including Abby’s pivotal first encounter with Lev and Yara. Additionally, other leaked clips show Abby and Lev navigating through an urban landscape dominated by towering skyscrapers, suggesting sequences of intense exploration and movement through the post-apocalyptic city.
While an official premiere date remains unannounced, the third season of “The Last of Us” is currently anticipated to launch in 2027. A significant decision still hangs in the balance: whether this upcoming season will conclude the series or if the extensive narrative from the latter half of “The Last of Us Part II” will be adapted across two separate seasons. Following Neil Druckmann’s transition, Craig Mazin has taken the reins as the sole showrunner, leaving the ultimate creative direction of the show in his hands.
