The Boys Season 5 Production Complete: Eric Kripke Reflects on the Finale

The highly anticipated fifth season of “The Boys” has officially concluded production and is now fully prepared for its release. Showrunner Eric Kripke confirmed that all work on the final episode, including color correction and visual effects, has been finalized, marking the official end of the series’ production process.

Kripke shared this significant news on social media, admitting that it was only at this point he truly realized the story had reached its conclusion. He described working on “The Boys” as the best professional experience of his career, extending his heartfelt gratitude to the crew, cast, and devoted viewers.

“A couple of hours ago, we made the final color corrections to the last VFX shots of ‘The Boys’ final episode,” Kripke posted. “Now, it’s completely, 100% finished. The project is no longer in our hands – it’s going out to you. Until now, it hadn’t truly hit me that it was over. This was the best professional experience of my life, and while I’m sad it’s ended, I’m glad it happened. Huge love and thanks to the cast, crew, and fans who loved this show as much as I do. Hope you like the finale. April 8.”

The final season is set to premiere on April 8 on Prime Video. The narrative will pick up from the events of the fourth season, where Homelander effectively established control over the United States. Viewers can expect a gripping story focusing on the resistance against this new regime and Billy Butcher’s personal war against Homelander. The concluding episode of the season will air on May 20.
