The developers of the fighting game Tekken 8 have faced significant criticism before, but the launch of its third season has dramatically escalated player dissatisfaction. Gamers are now leaving widespread negative reviews, accusing Bandai Namco of steering the game in the wrong direction.
Season 3 was intended as a “revival” after a poorly received second phase, yet community expectations have not been met. The core issue, players contend, is game balance. Users complain that Tekken 8 now heavily favors aggressive playstyles and constant pressure, effectively sidelining technical combat and defensive strategies. Many believe the Season 3 update has only exacerbated these problems.
The recent Steam review data is telling: following the patch release, the game accumulated 130 positive reviews against a staggering 850 negative ones. Consequently, the status of recent reviews has shifted to “Mostly Negative.”
In the comments, frustrated fans are vocal about a “lack of respect for players.” They criticize the absence of effective defensive mechanics, weakened character mobility, and the perceived transformation of the game into a chaotic, aggressive “simulator of random attacks.” It appears that Season 3 has not only failed to appease the community but has instead further fueled widespread discontent.
