Publishers Klabater and Good Shepherd Entertainment have announced the upcoming release of the tactical western Hard West II for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. While a precise release date has not yet been revealed, the game has been available on PC via Steam since August 4, 2022.
The story centers on Gin Carter, a legendary outlaw whose reputation rivals the wildest tales of the Old West. He uncovers information about the “Ghost Train,” rumored to carry a bounty of federal gold, and sets his sights on its riches.
Carter assembles his own posse, gathering a diverse crew of outlaws ranging from skilled gunslingers to individuals with supernatural powers. Under the cover of night, they embark on their pursuit, transforming the prairies into a battlefield of fierce gunfights. However, it soon becomes clear that the “Ghost Train” earned its eerie name for a reason.
Gameplay features turn-based tactics with a unique mystical twist, where classic gunfights are complemented by elements of witchcraft. A key feature is the “Bravado” system, which allows players to restore action points after each kill, encouraging an aggressive playstyle. The squad can be upgraded through cards and equipment, and player choices impact the loyalty of their companions. Battles unfold in diverse and dynamic settings, ranging from thrilling horseback chases to large-scale train robberies.
