PlayStation players are increasingly embracing games traditionally associated with Xbox, a trend evident with the success of Forza Horizon 5, and now, Starfield is poised to follow a similar path.
Forza Horizon 5 previously achieved significant acclaim on PS5, even surpassing some of PlayStation’s own 2025 exclusives in popularity. Starfield is now demonstrating a similar trajectory, indicating a strong desire among PS5 owners for titles from various platforms.
The highly anticipated space RPG has already secured the top spot in PlayStation Store pre-orders. The Premium Edition, priced at $69.99, is drawing the most interest, with the Standard version at $49.99 ranking below it.
While Starfield’s PS5 release date is set for April 7, its prominent position in the pre-order charts signifies robust consumer demand. It’s anticipated that interest in Starfield could even exceed the impressive engagement seen for Forza Horizon 5.
This cross-platform appeal is further underscored by the reception of other titles; for instance, PS5 players highly rated Obsidian’s Avowed. Upon its release, Avowed received an impressive average user rating of 8.9/10 based on over 2100 evaluations on the PS Store.
