The highly anticipated animated series set in the Star Wars universe, ‘Star Wars: Darth Maul — Shadow Lord,’ is already guaranteed a future. Disney+ and Lucasfilm have officially renewed the show for a second season, even before its initial two-episode premiere.
The first season, comprising ten episodes, is set to debut on April 6 with its initial two installments. New episodes will then be released in pairs weekly, culminating in the season finale on May 4.
The series’ narrative unfolds one year after the dramatic conclusion of the Clone Wars. Following his defeat and the loss of his former influence, Darth Maul seeks to regain his power and rebuild the criminal syndicate he once commanded. In his quest, he takes on a new apprentice: a young, Force-sensitive Twi’lek named Devon Izaru.
Sam Witwer returns to voice Darth Maul, but his involvement extends beyond mere vocal performance. According to Athena Portillo, Vice President of Lucasfilm Animation, Witwer was deeply engaged in script development, helping to refine and add depth to the character. The esteemed voice cast also features Wagner Moura, Richard Ayoadi, and Dennis Haysbert.
