It appears Sonic is gearing up for another significant announcement. The Korean Ratings Board has recently classified an unannounced ‘Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition,’ a move that typically precedes an official reveal.
Historically, similar leaks concerning Sega titles have consistently proven to be reliable indicators of the publisher’s upcoming plans.
The original Sonic Frontiers launched in November 2022 across all major platforms, achieving impressive sales of over 4.5 million units and receiving several free content updates. Releasing a ‘definitive’ version aligns well with the franchise’s strategy, which has previously offered expanded editions for titles like Sonic Mania and Sonic Origins.
Fans are now eagerly awaiting official confirmation to see if this potential ultimate edition will introduce new content, technical enhancements, or gameplay structure changes.
The game is expected to be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
